An Officer of the Nigeria Customs Services, Federal Operating Unit Zone A and a civilian on Thursday died in a ghastly motor accident.
The lone accident which occurred along Iseyin- Ibadan involed a patrol vehicle with inscription “Nigeria Customs Services FOU Zone A Ikeja’.
An eye witness told our reporter that the accident occured while pursuing a suspected rice smuggler with hummer bus but the the Zone Public Relations officer Mr Theophilus Duniya said it was a lone accident.
The witness added that patrol vehicles summersaulted at a corner while the vehicle was on top speed.
The Publice relation officer of the FOU Zone A Mr Dunniya who confirmed the incident said only one of the officer died while others are responding to treatment at a medical facilities.
He added that, they were on patrol when the incident happened and it was just a lone accident, they are not pursuing any smuggler.
Some resident of Iseyin decried the incident and sympathise with the Nigeria customs services as well as family of the deceased.
