It was a gathering of dignitaries from across political, religious, and traditional institutions on Sunday as Deacon Taiwo Adewale, the Permanent Secretary of the Oyo State Local Government Service Commission, hosted family, friends, and colleagues to the wedding thanksgiving of his son, Mofiyinfunoluwa Adewale.
The thanksgiving service was held at the Union Baptist Church, Ekotedo, Ibadan, where the officiating minister, Reverend Jonathan Babalola, delivered a sermon encouraging the new couple to build their home on mutual respect, cooperation, and godly values.
Reverend Babalola urged the couple to cherish the institution of marriage as ordained by God, reminding them that leaving one’s parents to establish a new home is a divine command.
At the reception that followed, the Chairman of the Oyo State Local Government Service Commission and prominent Ogbomoso-born politician, Bashorun Akinwale Akinwole, popularly known as Wolekanle, advised the couple to embrace patience, tolerance, and understanding—qualities he described as fundamental to a peaceful and lasting marriage.
Speaking during the thanksgiving, Deacon Taiwo Adewale expressed gratitude to Governor Seyi Makinde for the opportunity to serve in his current role, noting that it has enabled him to contribute meaningfully to grassroots governance in the state. He also thanked all guests present for celebrating with his family, acknowledging God’s grace upon his son and the family.
“I am deeply grateful to God for His grace and blessings on my children. I do not take this for granted,” Adewale said.
The well-attended event drew a host of high-profile attendees, including serving and retired commissioners, permanent secretaries, traditional rulers, local government administrators, top civil servants, politicians, businessmen, and religious leaders.
The celebration was marked by joy, music, and warm fellowship as guests felicitated with the Adewale family on the joyous occasion.
