The Oyo State Commissioner for Information, Prince Dotun Oyelade, has said President Bola Tinubu’s comment that 27 governors used savings from fuel subsidy removal to pay workers’ salaries does not apply to Governor Seyi Makinde.
Speaking during an interview with Fresh FM and other media stations at the commissioning of the APM Campaign Office in Abuja, Oyelade said the Oyo State Government has been paying over N22 billion to workers on the 25th of every month since June 2019 to date, stressing that Makinde had been paying workers’ salaries regularly four years before President Tinubu assumed office.
Oyelade expressed confidence in the political strength of the movement, declaring, “We can win.”
He also described calls for Governor Makinde to step down for President Tinubu as “wicked,” arguing that such a move would amount to extending what he described as untold hunger and harsh economic policies for another four years. Suggest headline
