The Oyo State Commissioner for Information, Prince Dotun Oyelade, has described the delivery of two surveillance aircraft by the Oyo State Government as a landmark achievement, saying Governor Seyi Makinde has once again demonstrated that results remain the strongest response to political propaganda.
Oyelade, in a statement issued on Wednesday, said the arrival of the aircraft underscored the Makinde administration’s unwavering commitment to protecting lives and property through proactive investment in modern security infrastructure.
He said Governor Makinde had consistently focused on delivering good governance rather than responding to political distractions, noting that the procurement of the surveillance aircraft was conceived long before the May 15, 2026, abduction incident in Oriire Local Government Area.
According to the Commissioner, critics who questioned the government’s commitment to security have now been answered by the successful delivery of the aircraft, which will strengthen intelligence gathering, aerial surveillance and collaboration with security agencies in combating criminal activities across the state.
“Governor Seyi Makinde has never been distracted by the noise of political antagonists. His focus has always been on delivering good governance and fulfilling the promises he made to the people of Oyo State. The delivery of these two surveillance aircraft is a clear demonstration of responsible leadership and strategic investment in the security of our people,” Oyelade stated.
He added that while some individuals continued to spread misleading narratives about the government’s security efforts, the administration remained focused on implementing practical and long-term solutions to safeguard residents and investors.
Oyelade also emphasized that Governor Makinde’s administration had maintained high standards of transparency, accountability and purposeful governance, with significant investments across critical sectors including security, infrastructure, education, healthcare and economic development.
He urged residents of the state not to be swayed by politically motivated misinformation but to continue supporting the government as it consolidates on its achievements.
“The people of Oyo State can see the difference. History will remember leaders for their achievements, not for the volume of propaganda against them. Governor Seyi Makinde has continued to prove that performance remains the strongest response to criticism,” he said.
The Commissioner reaffirmed that the Oyo State Government would continue to invest in modern security technology and strengthen collaboration with security agencies to ensure that every part of the state remains safe, peaceful and attractive to investors.
