Yoruba Right activist, Chief Adeyemo Adeyemo. popularly known as Sunday Igboho was on Monday on monday evening.
He was arrested in Cotonou airport by security operatives almost three weeks after he was declared wanted by the DSS for allegedly stockpiling arms, an allegation he has since denied.
Attempts to reach Peter Afunanya, spokesman of the Department of State Services (DSS), over the report were unsuccessful as he neither responded to calls nor replied messages.
Recalled that Igboho’s house was invaded by the DSS in Ibadan and some of his belongings including international passport, charms guns and others were carted away by the operatives
During the midnight two associates of the self-acclaimed activist were shot dead in an exchange of gunfire with the security operatives while 12 suspect were arrested during the operation.
