The Chief of Staff to the President, Prof. Ibrahim Gambari, alongside the Minister for Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige, will be meeting the striking university academic staff and
all other registered Trade Unions in Nigerian universities on Thursday.
Recall that ASUU last week agreed to meet with the federal government and dicuss the issues bothering on implementation of the agreements on how to improve the quality o tertiary education in Nigeria through proper funding.

This is coming 2 days after the striking lecturers announced a rollover of the industrial actions with another 12 weeks.
Meanwhile, the National Association of University Students (NAUS), on Wednesday, staged a peaceful protest in Ibadan, Oyo state capital.
The protest was lead by National Chairman of the association, Comrade Shittu Adeniyi who said the protest was consequential to register the frustration of Nigerian students over the prolonged ASUU strike and at the same time advocate for a permanent end to the strike.
Young men and women were seen with placards with various demanding inscriptions to show their agonies to the government.
Meanwhile there was low turn out as the students converged at Trans Amusement Park and marched down to the Secretariat despite the low numbers
The Special Assistant to Oyo State Governor on Student Affairs, Victor Olojede, and men of the Oyo state Police Command, were present to ensure that the protest was not hijacked by hoodlums.
