Soun of Ogbomoso Laid to Rest as Chief Imam Warns Aspirants Against Desperation

He was buried according to Islamic rites at about 4:30pm inside a vault in the palace.

The burial prayer was conducted by the Chief Imam of Ogbomoso, Tholiat Oluwasina Ayilara who urged the contestants for the stool not to be desperate

According to him” God has endorsed who will be the next Soun of Ogbomoso and nobody can change gis plan, fighting and killing because of the stool is immoral and i want everybody to pleass be calm

Thousands of Ogbomosho indigenes and residence on Sunday bieseged the palace even before the transition was announced formally.

The fear and uncertainty that trailed the news of the demise of the monarch was laid to rest Sunday afternoon when the ruling house officially announces the passage of the first class monarch.

The Gbagun Ruling House of Ogbomoso officially announced the demise of the 95-year-old monarch in a statement by Dr Aderemi Oyewumi.

The statement by the royal family reads, “With total submission to the will of Almighty God and on behalf of Gbagun Ruling House, we announce the death of our Father, His Royal Majesty, Oba Dr. Oladunni Oyewumi Ajagungbade III, CON, CFR, Soun of Ogbomosoland who passed away in the early hours of Sunday, 12th December, 2021, marking the end of 48 years of a glorious reign.

“Kabiyesi is survived by wives, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.”
