Speaking at a Town Hall Meeting in Gombe on Tuesday, the monarch presented the 25-Year Vision for Ogbomosoland, a strategic plan aimed at transforming the city into a model urban center that future generations can take pride in. He emphasized that Ogbomoso’s progress is a collective responsibility that requires unity, commitment, and strategic investments from all its sons and daughters.
“I encouraged those present to come home, invest, and contribute to the transformation of Ogbomoso, as our city is fast becoming a prime destination with boundless opportunities,” Oba Olaoye said. “The call to action is clear: our progress depends on our unity, commitment, and strategic investments.”

The monarch’s arrival in Gombe on Monday was met with overwhelming warmth and hospitality, which he described as a testament to the strong cultural and leadership ties Ogbomosoland shares beyond its borders. He expressed appreciation to the Gombe State Government, the Executive Chairman of Gombe Town, and the Oba Yoruba of Gombe for their efforts in fostering peace and unity.
Acknowledging the resilience and contributions of Ogbomoso indigenes in the diaspora, the Soun urged them to unite in strengthening investments back home. “By deepening our collaboration, we will drive Ogbomoso towards its full potential,” he said.
The event was attended by representatives from various Yoruba communities, as well as Igbo, Edo, and other Nigerian groups, reinforcing the message of national unity and shared progress. The Soun concluded with a passionate call to action: “Let’s build. Let’s invest. Let’s take Ogbomoso to the world!”
Visit to Northeastern University, Gombe
In another development, the Soun of Ogbomosoland paid a visit to Northeastern University, Gombe, where he held a brief but meaningful discussion with the university’s management, led by Vice-Chancellor Professor Yusuph Amuda Yahaya.
The monarch commended the institution’s vision and commitment to academic excellence, describing the campus as a world-class learning environment. “I was deeply impressed by the vision of the university’s founders and the significant investment in creating a world-class learning environment. Excellence was evident in every aspect of the campus,” he remarked.
Addressing the university’s leadership, the Soun emphasized the importance of purposeful and integrity-driven leadership in the success of any institution. He encouraged the Vice-Chancellor to lead with vision while urging the staff to remain dedicated to their roles.
