Soun, Akala’s Death-Bunvic Receive Tinubu in Ogbomoso, Assured on APC Unity

Hon Olusegun Odebunmi, Chairman House Committee on information National Orientation Ethics and Values has received the national leader of All Progressive Congress, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who was on a condolence visit to the ancient city of Ogbomosho on the passing of the Soun of Ogbomosho, Ọba Jimoh Oladunni Oyewumi, Ajagungbade III and a former Governor of Oyo state, Otunba Christopher Alao-Akala.

He described both deaths as a huge loss to the yoruba race and Nigeria in general. He maintained that both will be greatly missed.

Tinubu was to later visit the family of Olubadan of Ibadanland, Late Oba Saliu Adetunji to commiserate with Ibadan and Oyo people on the passing of their well revered monarch.

Earlier in his remarks, Asiwaju Tinubu admonished adherents and party faithfuls to take heart and be resolute at this trying moment. He recalled his strong relationship with the Soun of Ogbomoso and the Olubadan of Ibadan whom he described as strong pillars of support to the yourbaland.

He also lamented Governor Akala’s death at a time Oyo state require his vast experience, leadership acumen and political carriage to chant a new purposeful direction for the state.
“It is quite painful to me. He was a partner in progress and a political associate whose political values aligned with the plans for growth and development I have for the Southwest”

Odebunmi while thanking the national leader for his encouraging visit, however assured that OYO APC will stay resolute and united in her onerous task of returning the party back to power come 2023 in the state.

Prominent among leaders present were Kwara state Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, Chief Akin Oke, Senator Ayo Adeseun, Baba Abu Gbadamosi, Rt.Hon James Faleke, Hon Akeem(Skimeh) Adeyemi, Mr Bimbo Kolade and other APC leaders .

In another vein ,Hon Odebunmi also received the DG NYSC and his team at the Soun’s Palace .
