Sixty youths, who have been selected from across the federal constituency, would undergo training on ICT, with each participant going home with a laptop.

On Saturday and Sunday, there will be activities tailored towards community development in the four local government areas of AFIJIO, Atiba, Oyo East and Oyo West. More than 50 communities will benefit cash empowerment.

School of Science, Oyo as well as Federal College of Education, FCE, Staff Secondary School, are beneficiaries. The principal of the two schools will receive their letters on December 12th, 2022.

That same Monday, a block of three classrooms named after Archbishop Ayo Ladigbolu at Durbar Grammar School, would be commissioned.

After that, Skimeh, together with some community leaders, will pay an inspection visit to the ongoing construction of Obada/Owinni/Ijawaya bridge .

The All Progressives Congress, APC, chieftain who said that he has facilitated 11 ICT centers to the federal constituency as well as 109 E-pads to the University of Ibadan explained that “Long before now, I knew that ICT is the future. Being the chairman of the house committee on communications is just an added advantage. Apart from what I have facilitated for my constituents and constituency, i think it is good to assist nearby tertiary institutions. And there is no doubt that the University of Ibadan needs it. It is just less than 30 minutes drive from my constituency and being a regular visitor to UI, I know we have appreciable numbers of students of Oyo origin in the institution. So it is not out of place. I will not stop at that. Anything that will benefit humanity and especially my constituents will be vigorously pursued.”

The schools that have enjoyed Skimeh’s ICT facilitation include Ojongbodu Grammar School, Abiodun Atiba Memorial Secondary School, Olivet Baptist High School, Ansarudeen Grammar School Opapa, Oranyan Grammar School and Methodist Secondary School, Fiditi.

The former council boss had also facilitated free internet services to Emmanuel Alayande College of Education, Federal College of Education Special, Federal School of Survey and the State General Hospital, Oyo.
