Engr Seyi Makinde has emerged as Peoples Democratic Party, PDP gubernatorial candidate ahead of the 2019 election in Oyo state.
Makinde, an Oil magnate defeated Senator Ayoade Adeseun at a the party primary held at liberty stadium in Ibadan
He had a total of 2,772 votes while Senator Ayo Adeseun had 21 votes. Void votes were 145.
Although Senator Adeseun had boycotted the primary base on irregularities on the delegate lists which according to him is a ploy to disenfranchise some of his supporters
The former lawmaker said the delegate lists has has been doctored and he has written a protest letter to appropite channels demanding for a shift in the date for the primary and correction of the anomalies.
The process was monitored by representatives of the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC, and security agents and others .
Party leaders including, professor Taoreed Adedoja. Mogaji Nureni Akanbi, Hon Mulikat Akande, Hon Segun Ogunwuyi, Hon Muraina Ajibola, Senator Hosea Agboola, Senator Kamoru Adedibu, Elder Wole Oyelese, Alhaji Rasaq Gbadegesin among ithers where in attendance.
