There are plethoras of wishes, hopes and desires as Eng. Seyi Makinde was sworn in as the newest Governor of Oyo State, not only within the State, but in the entire South West because of the strategic importance of the Pace Setter State to the Region.

The misnomers and discrepancies that have manned the state hitherto have created a big lacuna that almost turned the people to mere appendage, therefore, the ovation that greeted the coming of OMITITUN as he is fondly called is louder, anyone that passes through Ibadan on 29th of May would definitely have an insight about my insinuation, the entire populace looks up to Governor Seyi Makinde as a beacon of hope.

As a leader by birth and training, Eng. Seyi Makinde is not bereaved of the yearnings and aspirations of the people, he quite understands fully, the fate that awaits him, immediately after the swearing in, starting with his inauguration speech, he decisively hits the ground running.

From 29th of May to this present moment, all the decisions and policies are hit back to back in the voice of Olamide Badoo. His activities adequately reflected the demands of the good people of Oyo State.

Seyi Makinde begins with cancellation of the notorious #3000 paid by students in elementary schools across the state, he reawaken the dreams of our founding fathers in the Old Western Region, anyone that remembers the ugly situation that ensued in 2016 would know the importance of this decision. The helpless secondary school students grounded the entire activities in Ibadan, the capital city of Oyo State in protest of the heinous policy formulated and implemented by Koselemo Government. By now, all the 11 founding fathers of Action Group in 1951 would be proud of the son of Makinde.

As if that one was not enough, for the disastrous 8 years, Koselemo and his wife closed a bridge meant for commuters because of selfish aggrandizement, the good people of Oyo State were forced to be walking around circle like a clock for the past 8 years instead of walking straight, Seyi Makinde hurriedly lifted the ban and named the place Freedom Bridge. Martin Luther King would be proud of this freedom.

In continuation of people’s oriented policies, Seyi Makinde dissolved the gathering of all unconstitutionally constituted council chairmen in order to pave way for those that would be people’s driven. Also, Koselemo’s last minute promotion that was deliberately targeted on the purse of Oyo State was duly reversed. This is a government meant for the people.

To crown it all, Seyi Makinde made another giant stride as he banned the activities of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), this is one of the most decisive decision of all time in Oyo State, the temporary embargo would definitely ease the burden of the commuters and also disallow the enchantment of war songs as the adversaries have wished.

It is just a new dawn, the fresh air is here, Seyi Makinde is already making us proud. We hope for more good tidings.
