Spiritual leader and founder of the One Love Family, Satguru Maharaj Ji, has cautioned former Northern Elders Forum (NEF) spokesman, Dr. Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, over what he described as “rants and threats” against President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Recall that Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, former spokesperson of the Northern Elders Forum, criticized President Tinubu’s administration, urging him to step aside for a younger generation with fresh ideas. He stated that Tinubu’s 18 months in office have lacked effective governance, with a cabinet unfit to address key issues like security, livelihoods, and public trust. Baba-Ahmed dismissed the Renewed Hope Agenda as mere campaign rhetoric lacking a coherent governance strategy, warning against prioritizing re-election over meaningful leadership.
In a release titled “Special Warning to Hakeem Baba-Ahmed and His Neo-Colonialist Cohorts to Pack Up”, Maharaj Ji accused Baba-Ahmed of showing persistent disrespect to Nigeria’s sitting president and warned of potential repercussions if the attacks continue.
“Enough is now enough,” Maharaj Ji said, alleging that Baba-Ahmed’s criticisms were not only disrespectful but aimed at destabilizing the current administration under the guise of political commentary.
He referred to Baba-Ahmed’s past role as a “flippant mascot of Fulani political domination” and accused him and his allies of seeking to retain political control through what he called a “feudalist coven” rooted in colonial privilege and religious division.
The spiritual leader defended President Tinubu’s leadership, stating that although he is not perfect, the president is more determined than many of his predecessors to lay the foundations for real economic growth and national unity. He cited ongoing infrastructural development, efforts to improve security, and economic reforms under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
Maharaj Ji also cautioned against inflammatory rhetoric, which he believes fuels tribal and religious tension, calling on Nigerians—particularly the youth—not to be manipulated into hostility against the Tinubu administration.
“If Hakeem has any grievance with Bola Ahmed Tinubu, he should wait until after his presidency. So long as Tinubu is President of Nigeria, he must be accorded his due respect,” the statement read.
In a sweeping declaration, Maharaj Ji stated that he had “signed, sealed, and delivered” the 2027 presidential election victory to President Tinubu, urging political rivals such as Atiku Abubakar, Nasir El-Rufai, Rabiu Kwankwaso, and others to support the President’s anti-corruption and national development efforts.
He called for unity and cooperation across ethnic and political lines, urging the ruling elite and opposition figures to focus on national progress rather than ethnic politics.
“President Tinubu is not a saint, but he is far more serious than the entire ruling elite about laying a critical foundation for Nigeria’s growth,” Maharaj Ji declared.
