HRM Oba Saliu Oyemonla Azeez Agunloye IV, the Sabiganna of Iganna Kingdom, has lodged a formal complaint with the Iganna Area Command, alleging insubodination, extortion, and actions capable of destabilizing the peace within Iwajowa Local Government against Mallam Memudu, who identifies himself as Seriki Samori.

In a letter addressed to the Area Command, Oba Agunloye detailed that Mallam Memudu, initially nominated by the monarch and subsequently approved by the late Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi III, has deviated significantly from his designated role.Originally appointed to manage Fulani herder-farmer conflicts and provide crucial intelligence to security agencies, Mallam Memudu is now accused of establishing a “parallel government” and engaging in illicit activities.

“He has been abusing his office by setting a parallel government for himself, extorting money from Fulani constituents through threats and insubordination to my office as the prescribed Authority and the Paramount Traditional Ruler of Iganna Kingdom,” Oba Agunloye stated in his official report.
The Sabiganna further alleges that Mallam Memudu has failed to reorientate the Fulani youths towards lawful conduct, instead exploiting their alleged criminal activities for personal gain. “His primordial interest had been extortions instead of the crises’ management he swore to uphold,” the monarch asserted.
Oba Agunloye claims repeated warnings have been ignored, and Mallam Memudu’s actions are now undermining the traditional authority and jeopardizing the security of the region. The monarch cited a specific incident involving arson in Onikoro Area, where Mallam Memudu allegedly obstructed investigations and manipulated suspected Fulani individuals.
“This is a dangerous security trend in my kingdom that should not be treated with kid gloves in the interest of peace and stability of the local government,” Oba Agunloye emphasized.
The Sabiganna has formally requested the Iganna Area Command to summon Mallam Memudu and issue a stern warning, demanding he ceases parading himself as Seriki Samori within the local government. The monarch also called for immediate action to prevent further escalation and to consolidate the improved security architecture in Iwajowa Local Government and its environs.
Copies of the complaint have been forwarded to the Executive Chairman of Iwajowa Local Government, the Divisional Police Officer of Iganna Division, the Director of the Department of State Services (DSS) in Iwajowa Local Government, and the Director of the Criminal Investigation Bureau (CIB) in Iwajowa Local Government.
