In a determined effort to combat maternal and child mortality, the Rotary E-Club of One Nigeria, District 9126, has donated vital medical supplies to Ado Quarters Primary Health Centre along Akala Expressway, Ibadan.

The initiative, aimed at strengthening grassroots healthcare delivery, was part of the club’s Maternal and Child Health project. The donated items included mosquito nets, maternity birth kits, bedspreads, drugs, malaria test kits, and other essential materials.
Speaking at the event, the Immediate Past President of the club, Rotarian Ganiyat Tijani, emphasized the importance of the gesture in preventing avoidable deaths during childbirth and the postnatal period. “This effort reflects our ongoing commitment to improving maternal and child health, particularly at the community level,” she said.
Current President of the club, Rotarian Ajagun Maam, described Rotary E-Club as a service-oriented organization committed to giving hope and supporting humanity. “Our presence here today is part of a broader mission to extend life-saving support to more communities and healthcare facilities,” he noted.
Community leaders lauded the intervention. The Chairman of the Ado Quarters Landlords Association, Alhaji Adetunji Akanbi, described the donation as both timely and commendable. He expressed gratitude on behalf of the community and encouraged other organizations to follow Rotary’s example.
In her remarks, the Matron of the Health Centre, Mrs. Hellen Aladetuyi, expressed appreciation to the Rotary E-Club for selecting their facility for the impactful gesture. She noted that the donated materials would significantly enhance care for expectant and nursing mothers.
Highlights of the event included the official distribution of mosquito nets, birth kits, and bedspreads, alongside free malaria testing and medication for pregnant women and nursing mothers. The initiative underscored the club’s commitment to promoting preventive, accessible, and community-focused healthcare.
