A former House of Representatives aspirant in Ogbomoso North/South, and Oriire federal constituency of Oyo State, Hon. Toyin Abeleje on Tuesday inaugurated a support group for the presidential candidate of All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the party’s guber candidate in the state, Teslim Folarin.
The Ogbomoso-born politician tagged the support group, Oyo State Coalition for Asiwaju.
The inauguration held in Ogbomoso area of the state had in attendance three APC representatives from all the 30 Local Government Areas of the state.
Speaking at the inauguration, the UK-based cum politician expressed readiness to use the coalition in ensuring the victory of Tinubu and Folarin in the forthcoming general election.
She explained that she has built structure across the LGs in Oyo State so as to work hand-in-hand for the success of all the APC candidates for the 2023 election.
Hon. Toyin Abeje however charged members of the coalition to preach the gospel of Asiwaju and Folarin wherever they are.
She noted that it is time the APC take over the seat of power from the Peoples Democratic Party in Oyo State.
The APC chieftain charged members and supporters of the coalition to back the governorship aspiration of Folarin.
She said: “The initiative was a show of our love and loyalty to our leader, someone who has sacrificed so many things for the development of other people. This is the time for us to support, and mobilise towards the presidential ambition of Asiwaju”
“Our goal is to mobilise people and emphasize that Asiwaju is the best man to manage Nigeria. Nobody can question his competence, his capability and his reach out. Tinubu is not a man of the South-West alone, he is a man of the whole federation.
“In. Coalition for Asiwaju, our aim is to be in oneness. I can assure you that what we did here would lead to Tinubu emerging as president in 2023.”
Abeleje further said, “Asiwaju has proven himself in so many ways. He is one of the forerunners of modern-day Lagos. He was in the trench during the NADECO, days, and he laboured excruciatingly to ensure we enthrone democracy, rule of law and true federalism in Nigeria. He is a tested democrat and a destiny helper. My being in the House of Assembly today is due to the benevolence of Asiwaju. Everybody should just rally around him and give him full support to ensure that he becomes Nigeria’s president in 2023.”
