Pastor Nathaniel Olufemi Oderemi of Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), Agbala Agbara Adura, Mosoke, Apete, Ibadan, on Sunday celebrated his 70th birthday with a thanksgiving service that attracted worshippers, ministers of God, family members, friends and well-wishers from across the country.
The thanksgiving service, held at the church auditorium, was a colourful and spiritually uplifting event as members of the congregation gathered to celebrate their shepherd for attaining the milestone age of 70.
The celebration was attended by dignitaries from different walks of life, including clerics, community leaders and other eminent personalities, who joined the celebrant in thanking God for a life dedicated to His service.
The atmosphere was filled with praise and worship, fervent prayers and testimonies as guests described the occasion as a celebration of God’s faithfulness in the life of Pastor Oderemi. The church auditorium was filled to capacity, reflecting the respect and admiration the cleric enjoys within and beyond Ibadan.
Although Pastor Oderemi turned 70 on Saturday, August 1, 2026, the thanksgiving service was held on Sunday, August 2, to enable members of the church and invited guests to celebrate with him.
In separate tributes, speakers extolled Pastor Oderemi’s humility, integrity, commitment and unwavering dedication to the work of God. They described him as a servant of God whose life has remained a shining example of selfless service, compassion and steadfast commitment to the preaching of the Gospel.
Many of the speakers also commended the celebrant for his positive impact on countless lives, noting that his ministry has extended beyond the pulpit to positively influence families, youths and communities both within Nigeria and abroad.
In his remarks, Pastor Oderemi expressed profound gratitude to God for His goodness, mercy and preservation over the past seven decades. He thanked members of the church, his family and everyone who joined him in celebrating the special occasion, praying that God would grant them greater grace and strength to continue serving humanity.
Highlights of the celebration included special musical renditions by the Royal Shepherd group, presentation of gifts by dignitaries, church members and admirers, as well as the ceremonial cutting of the birthday cake amid applause and joyful celebrations.
Pastor Nathaniel Olufemi Oderemi was born on August 1, 1956, in Agbede-Adodo, Oke-Oniyanrin. He was born to the family of the late Mr. John Obidahunsi Oderemi, an indigene of Oyo Town, and Mrs. Comfort Oderemi.
He is married to Mrs. Olorunfemi Deborah Oderemi, and the union is blessed with godly children.
His ministerial journey began with his admission into the Michael Ojo Olowere College of Theology (MOCOT) in 2009, where he graduated as an Evangelist in 2011. Determined to deepen his theological knowledge, he proceeded to the CAC Theology Seminary, Ikeji-Arakeji, in 2014 to pursue pastoral training.
His passion for sound biblical teaching further led him to Church Growth International College, Oke-Ado, Ibadan, where he earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Theology during the 2017/2018 academic session.
In 2019, he fulfilled a lifelong spiritual aspiration by embarking on a pilgrimage to Jerusalem.
About 15 years ago, Pastor Oderemi founded Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), Agbala Agbara Adura, Mosoke, Apete, Ibadan, where he has continued to impact lives through dedicated pastoral leadership, evangelism and community service.
