Redeploy More Police to Iseyin, Residents Begs FG

Residents of Iseyin, the headquarters of Iseyin local government area of Oyo State have cried out to Federal Government to help in the reinstatement of police personnel in order to curb the incessant criminal activities in the city

This was contained in a communique issued at the end of community meeting held at the palace of the Paramount Ruler of Iseyin land and Aseyin of Iseyin, Oba Dr. Abdulganiyy Adekunle Salau, Oloogunebi-Ajinese I and made available to journalists.

It was said that the city is confronting series of challenges ranging from security and economy as a result of non- availability of police personnel in the local government.

It was established that lives and properties were not secured and in recent times all commercial banks were closed down for the fair of being attacked by hoodlums.

The community under the leadership of a first class Oba, Aseyin of Iseyin however appealed to Inspector General of Police and Federal government in general to wade in and come to their aid so that Personnel of Nigeria Police Force can resume to work without delay.

It was registered that the community has renovated reasonable numbers of vandalised buildings that are enough to accommodate Nigeria Police while promised that the main building will also be done soonest.

The community leaders however assured that henceforth they will never allow the bad eggs to thwart their efforts aimed at developing the city again.

They stressed that those arrested in connection with ENDSARS protest that resulted to vandalization of offices of security agencies across Iseyin local government were having issue to settle with government but not Iseyin community.

“we are appealing to Federal Government to help us and ensure that men of Nigeria Police are brought back to resume work at Iseyin Divisional Police Headquarters,” they emphasised.
