QuickAir Networks Limited, a leading aviation technology solutions provider, has announced a major corporate restructuring alongside the relaunch of its domestic Global Distribution System (GDS) platform designed specifically for Nigerian travel agents.
As part of the restructuring, the company unveiled a new leadership team to drive innovation and expansion in the Nigerian aviation technology sector. Engr. Suleiman Ibrahim, with over 20 years of experience in technology infrastructure and aviation systems, has been appointed Chairman of the Board. Dr. Segun Oyebolu will serve as Deputy Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, while Mr. Muyiwa Amoo takes on the role of Executive Director, Finance & Administration.
The relaunched GDS platform gives travel agents real-time access to domestic flight inventory, competitive fares, and seamless booking options across all major Nigerian airlines. The system is designed to address long-standing industry challenges such as fragmented booking processes and limited access to consolidated flight data.
“Our restructuring represents a strategic pivot to better serve the Nigerian aviation market,” said Engr. Ibrahim. “With the relaunch of our domestic GDS, we are democratizing access to flight inventory and empowering travel agents with world-class technology that was previously unavailable in this market.”
He also addressed the company’s past operational setback, assuring stakeholders that wallet balances affected by the temporary suspension of operations in December 2022 would be fully restored within 30 days.
Dr. Oyebolu highlighted the efficiency gains for travel agents, noting that the platform could reduce booking times by up to 70% while improving customer experience. The system offers features such as real-time seat availability, instant booking confirmation, fare comparisons across airlines, and integrated payment solutions supporting multiple Nigerian payment methods. Capable of handling over 10,000 concurrent users, the platform processes transactions within seconds.
Mr. Amoo projected that the new GDS would facilitate over ₦50 billion in domestic flight bookings within its first year, further reinforcing QuickAir’s commitment to the Nigerian market.
With domestic passenger traffic growing at an estimated 15% annually, QuickAir plans to onboard more than 5,000 travel agents nationwide in the next six months. The company has also launched a dedicated support team to handle account reconciliations and provide assistance.
QuickAir will host free training sessions for agents in Lagos, Abuja, and Port Harcourt in the coming month to ensure seamless adoption of the system. The platform is now live and accessible to registered travel agents nationwide.
