The Police Service Commission (PSC), in collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), has announced the commencement of recruitment of 50,000 Police Constables into the Force, in line with the directive of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The recruitment drive, according to the PSC, is aimed at strengthening community policing, improving internal security, and boosting the manpower of the Nigeria Police Force.
In a statement signed by Torty Njoku Kalu, Head of Protocol and Public Affairs, the Commission disclosed that the recruitment portal will officially open on Monday, December 15, 2025, and will remain accessible until Sunday, January 25, 2026.
Qualifications & Eligibility
Applicants into the General Duty cadre must possess a minimum of five credits in GCE Ordinary Level, SSCE/NECO or equivalent, including English and Mathematics, obtained in not more than two sittings.
Applicants into the Specialists cadre require at least four credits, including English and Mathematics, also in not more than two sittings, in addition to a minimum of three years’ relevant experience and necessary Trade Test certificates.
Eligible candidates must:
- Be Nigerian citizens by birth
- Be between 18 and 25 years for General Duty; 18 to 28 years for Specialists
- Be medically, physically, and psychologically fit
- Meet height requirements of 1.67m for males and 1.64m for females (General Duty)
- Fulfil additional requirements to be listed on the recruitment portal
Application Process
All applications must be submitted online via the official portal: www.npfapplication.psc.gov.ng, which becomes active on December 15.
The PSC emphasized that the entire recruitment exercise is FREE, warning applicants to beware of fraudsters claiming otherwise.
The Commission assured that the process will be transparent, credible and strictly merit-based.
Detailed guidelines and updates will be available on the websites and social media pages of both the PSC and the Nigeria Police Force.
