The Oyo State Police Command has arrested three suspects in connection with a burglary at a church in Ibadan.
According to a statement signed by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, CSP Osifeso Adewale, the suspects—identified as Idowu Ibrahim (27), Akanade Emmanuel (26), and Moruf Sherrif (28)—were apprehended on Thursday following swift intelligence-led operations by officers attached to the Ogbere Divisional Police Headquarters.
The trio allegedly carted away valuable musical instruments from the church, including two keyboards with stands, two slave engines, and a 24-channel mixer amplifier. The stolen items were reportedly recovered from their getaway vehicle, a Toyota Corolla with registration number ABJ 932 DL.
Police say the suspects confessed to the crime during interrogation, and investigations are ongoing to determine if they are linked to other similar incidents in the state.
The Command urged residents to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious activities through its emergency numbers: 615 (toll-free), 08081768614, 09054133071, and 09061299291.
