The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, has condemned the recent attack in Angwan Rukuba, Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State, which resulted in the loss of innocent lives, ordering a massive deployment of security personnel and assets to restore peace and apprehend those responsible.

In a statement issued on Wednesday by the Force Public Relations Officer, DCP Anthony Okon Placid, the IGP expressed deep sympathy with the Plateau State Government and residents, particularly families affected by the tragic incident in the Angwan Rukuba community.

As part of immediate response measures, the police chief had earlier deployed the Deputy Inspector-General of Police in charge of Operations, DIG Umar Shehu Nadada, to the state.

The DIG is expected to assess the situation on ground, coordinate ongoing operations, and strengthen security frameworks to prevent further escalation.
The statement noted that additional tactical teams, including operatives of the Police Mobile Force and intelligence units, have been dispatched to the state in collaboration with other security agencies. The move, according to the IGP, is aimed at tackling the current security challenges and preventing further breakdown of law and order.
