Peace Corps Verdict:Victory for Nigerian Youths__Oyo Commandant

As Peace Corps of Nigeria (PCN) won its legal battle against the Nigeria Police Force,the Oyo State Commandant of the agency,Patriot Oludare Adesina,has lauded the verdict,saying it was a victory for Nigerian youths.
Peace Corps of Nigeria had filed a fundamental right enforcement suit against the police following the harassment,arrest and detention of its National Commandant,Amb.Dickson Akoh and other senior officers of the agency and sealing off its Headquarters in Abuja.
Speaking with newsmen at the Corps state command headquarters,Oluyole Estate, Ibadan, the state capital,Pat. Adesina congratulated the National Commandant,Amb.Dickson Akoh,for the  victory.
In his words:”The victory is for Nigerian youths ,officers of the Corps and our National Commandant”.
Expressing satisfaction over the victory,Mr.Adesina,who is a legal practitioner stated that the appropriate way of  addressing sensitive issues is to seek legal actions thereby.
He commended the judiciary for the victory,adding that the outcome of the judgement given by Justice Gabriel Kolawole that the national headquarters office of the corps should be unsealed within seven days and that N12.5 million be paid to the Corps as damages by the Nigerian Police will help strengthen public belief in our judicial system.
In the same vein, Adesina maintained that the establishment of Peace Corps of Nigeria would provide gainful employment for the teaming  youths and empower them on vocational skills which would prevent them from indulging in all sort of illegal activities.
Emphasizing that the lose of 26 Nigerian girls’  in the Mediterranean Sea was as a result of not meaningfully engaged to channel their potential towards self-development and nation building.
Accentuating the importance of the bill, the Commandant urged the Federal Government to hasten assent to the bill to establish the Nigerian Peace Corps as a legal government paramilitary agency after the passage and adoption of the NPC bill by the two chambers of the National Assembly in July.
 He further stressed on the socioeconomic advantage of assenting to the bill in time asides, from creating employment; it will enhance peaceful coexistence among diverse cultural groups in the spirit of oneness which invariably contribute to economic development and productivity.
He however  urged Nigerian youths not to waver,saying,”Our bill will soon be assented to. Nigerian youths should not lose faith in the government”
“Respect all constituted authority and be discipline”, he charged officers and men of the Corps.
