There are clear indications that the former Deputy Governor of Oyo state Amb Taofeek Arapaja will be the next national Chairman of the peoples Democratic Party
A source privy to the discussion between Nyeson Wike’s camp said Arapaja who is the deputy National chairman of the party is tipped to succeed Iyorcha Ayu whose removal os part of the condition for them to work with Atiku’s camp
They insisted that the National Chairman of the party cannot come from the same zone that produces the presidential candidate.
At the meeting which was held at Carlton Hotel Parklane London on Thursday ,it was gathered that they told Atiku to prevail on the the National Chairman to step down and allow a southerner to suceed him .
At the meeting were Samuel Ortom of Benue, Seyi Makinde of Oyo and Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia as well as former governors Donald Duke of Cross Rivers, Segun Mimiko of Ondo and Ibrahim Dankwambo of Gombe.
Apart from immediate step aside of Iyorchia Ayu Wike Camp also demand produce also demand to produce only the Senate President and some principal officers of NASS and nominate for appointment Ministers for some key Ministries & Heads of Parastatals/Agencies
