In a demonstration of support and encouragement, the Oyo State government has rewarded medal-winning athletes participating in the ongoing National Sports Festival, reaffirming its commitment to sports development and youth empowerment.

The Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Hon. Wasilat Adegoke, represented by Hon. Yusuf Adebisi, Chairman of the Oyo State House of Assembly Committee on Youth and Sports, met with members of Team Oyo to commend their performances and inspire them to aim higher.

Hon. Adebisi praised the athletes for their outstanding achievements, noting that their dedication aligns with the vision of Governor Seyi Makinde to promote excellence in sports.

“Recite the anthem before your events to remind yourselves that you are here to set the pace as Oyo contingents,” he said, encouraging the athletes to uphold the state’s identity as pioneers and pace-setters.
