Oyo Assembly Confirms 14 Commissioner Nominee, SUBEB Chair, Board Members.

Oyo House of Assembly has  confirmed 14 commissioner nominees whose names were sent to it by the Executive for screening and confirmation.

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, on Wednesday, july 24 forwarded his much-awaited list of commissioners to the State House of Assembly.

The nominees screened and confirmed as commissioners are: Hon. Barrister Adeniyi John Farinto; Mr Adeniyi Olabode; Hon. Muyiwa Jacob; Professor Oyelowo Oyewo; Barrister Olasunkanmi Aremu; Barrister Seun Ashamu; Mr. Ramon Abiodun; Chief Bayo Lawal; Hon. Funmilayo Orisadeyi; Dr. Bashil Abiodun Bello; Hon. Wasiu Olatunbosun; Professor Daudu Kehinde; Mr. Akinola Ojo; Rt. Hon. Kehinde Ayoola.

Five out of the 14 nominees including Hon Kehinde Ayoola,Chief Bayo Lawal; Hon. Funmilayo Orisadeyi,Barrister Adeniyi John Farinto and Hon Jacob Ojekunle were allowed to Bow and Go while others were properly screened.

 

The house also confirmed the appointment Dr. Nureni Adeniran, as Chairman, Oyo State Universal Education Board (SUBEB) and two other as the board full time members.

Dr Nureni Adeniran was on july 25 appointed  as the Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board, (SUBEB) and has since resume in office

Hon Ogundoyin said the resolve of Governor Seyi Makinde to transform Oyo state is not in doubt going by the caliber of people being considered for appointment into the state executive council.

The Speaker maintained that virtually all the appointees are technocrats and highly cerebral people who have or are making waives in their chosen careers.

Lawmaker representing Ogbomoso North state constituency at the Oyo state House of Assembly while speaking during the screening   frowns at poor representation of women on the list.

She  said women’s role in politics should not be limited to clapping of hands and dancing during campaigns  but  be involved  in policy making and governance.
