Peace was yesterday night restored between labour unions in Oyo state and the state governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde following quick intervention of the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII) under the leadership of CCII President General, Barr. Chief Niyi Ajewole.

The peace meeting lasted for several hours with the body of Veteran Labour Leaders and leadership of the CCII.

According to a source within CCII, CCII had earlier met the leadership of NLC and TUC in the state, where they prevailed on labour leaders for peaceful intervention.

“We also met the governor and appealed to him, and the governor welcomed the idea of CCII intervention into the labour crises giving the platform for robust dialogue and peaceful resolution. His Excellency Governor Makinde promised to address the entire workforce and the labour leaders on Monday morning at the State Secretariat.”
