The Oyo State Police Command says it is fully prepared to ensure a credible, secure, and peaceful bye-election in Ibadan North Federal Constituency scheduled for Saturday, August 16, 2025.

In a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Osifeso Adewale, the Command said it had held consultations with security stakeholders and facilitated the signing of a peace accord by political aspirants, pledging to avoid violence before, during, and after the polls.

Key measures announced include the deployment of only recognized security agencies at polling units, strict enforcement of electoral laws, prohibition of campaigning or displaying political symbols at polling stations, and a ban on alcohol sales near voting areas.

The Command also barred uniformed personnel from escorting candidates to polling units and warned against voter inducement or possession of weapons.
