The committee noted that the election which will hold between 9 o’clock in the morning and three o’clock in the afternoon will be followed by swearing-in of new executives.

It explained that collection and submission of nomination form will be from 15th to 22nd October, 2019 while ban on campaign has been lifted with effect from 15th October to 16th December, 2019.

The committee pointed out that screening of contestants will hold between 23rd and 30th October,2019 while publication of contestants for claims and objections is from 31st October to 2nd November, 2019.

It hinted that publication of final list of contestants will be on December 13 as Congress/Account of Stewardship/ Manifesto holds on 16th December while display of voters’ list will be out the same day.

Meanwhile, the committee reiterated it’s determination to conduct and effect a very transparent and peaceful election with sense of responsibility, accountability and respect for the Constitution of the Union.

It emphasized that it would not condone any act or conduct that could be inimical to the smooth process of the election from any member of the Union.

Consequently, the committee has put in place enough security mechanisms to ensure the success of the election and protections of law abiding members throughout the period of the election.

It therefore advised non members of the Union, as well as those who have no legitimate business or reason to be around the election premises to keep off in their own interests.

Further enquiries should be directed to the Secretary to the Committee, NUJ Press Centre, Iyaganku, Ibadan.
