Member representing Oluyole State Constituency in the Oyo State House of Assembly, Waheed Akintayo, popularly known as “Ilumoka Presenter,” has resigned his membership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Akintayo, who currently serves as the Chairman, House Committee on Information, Media, ICT and Public Affairs, formally communicated his decision in a resignation letter addressed to the PDP Ward 4 Chairman in Oluyole Local Government Area of Oyo State.
In the letter, the lawmaker also requested the removal of his personal information from the party’s membership register and electronic database.
According to him, “Please accept this letter as my formal resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), effective immediately.”
He further requested that “all my personal details, including my name, contact information, membership record, and any photographs, be removed from the party’s membership register, any electronic databases, and the PDP website.”
Despite his exit from the party, Akintayo expressed appreciation to the PDP for the opportunities and experiences he gained during his membership.
“I sincerely appreciate the opportunities and experiences I have had with the party, and wish you and the party continued success,” the letter added.
His resignation is expected to generate political reactions within Oluyole Local Government and the Oyo State political landscape.
