The Oyo State Executive Council on Tuesday celebrated the Commissioner for Information, Prince Dotun Oyelade, as he marked his 73rd birthday.
The brief ceremony, led by the Acting Governor, Barr. Adebayo Lawal, was held after the weekly Executive Council meeting at the Council Chambers, Secretariat, Ibadan.
The Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Olanike Adeyemo; the Head of Service, Mrs. Olubunmi Oni, mni; and members of the State Executive Council were present at the celebration in honour of the veteran journalist and statesman.

In a separate impromptu session at the Governor’s Office, reporters covering the government sang in praise of the Commissioner, prompting him to respond with heartfelt words of encouragement.
Oyelade lauded the journalists for their dedication and professionalism, describing them as the best in their chosen career.
“You are better than me when I was your age,” he told the young reporters, a remark that drew applause.
The celebration reflected not only Oyelade’s enduring influence in the media and governance space but also the admiration he commands among colleagues and younger professionals.
