All arrangements have been concluded to commence House-by-House sanitation Inspection Exercise by Oyo State Ministry of Environment and Water Resources, Local Governments and Oyo State Waste Management Authority.
The State Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Chief Isaac Ishola, dropped this hint during the weekly Environmental Monitoring Exercise in Ibadan, the State Capital.
The commissioner in a press statement signed by the ministry media officer Abiodun Atilola explained that according to section 4(1,2,3) of Environmental (sanitation and Waste Control) regulation 2013 which states that “No person shall discard, throw or drop any litter or any similar refuse anywhere except in designated litter bins and that anybody that violates this law shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable to pay fine”.
Ishola further reiterated that the issue of Environment is a joint responsibility of the State Government, the Local Governments, Local Communities, and all industrial and commercial firms in the State.
He called on corporate organisations and well-to-do individuals to arise and fulfil their Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR) to develop their host communities as far as Environmental sanitation is concerned.
He added that the present administration would ensure that everybody in the state enjoyes a healthy enviroment including the Local Governments and Local Community Development Areas of Oyo State.
