Oyo state house of Asembly has set up a committee to investigate the allegations leveled against South West Security Network Amotekun on the
Killing of a 16 year old patrick Okafor last week
The committee which has Hon Obadara as chairman includes Hon Sanjo Adedoyin, Hon Asimiyu Alarape, Hon Babajide Adebayo and Hon Fola Oyekunle.
The speaker of Oyo state House of Assembly ,Hon Debo Ogundoyin directed that the committee are to meet the Divisional Police Officer at Mokola Police Station, Amotekun commandant and other relevant security agencies as well as the representatives of family of the decaesed to give a cleared picture of what happend and they are expected to report their findings to the House on Tuesday 31st 201.
Also another committee comprises of principal officers of the house of Assembly, Hon Babajide and others to pay a condolence visits to the family
Hon Gabriel Babajide of Ibadan North had earlier in a matter of urgent public important raised the issue and call on the house to investigate the allegation and pay a condolence visit to the family of the decease.
Hon Dele Adeola, Iseyin/Itesiwaju state constituency while speaking on the matter said the allegations against Amotekun have not been substantiated and there is a need for the Assembly to investigate properly
Hon Bimbo Oladeji while suggesting that the interrogation of the security agecies and others should be done at the floor of the House and not be shrouded in secrecy so as to let the public be aware of the efforts of the Assembly on the matter.
Hon Folakanmi Oluwafemi, and others lawmmakers in their contributions said the allegation levelled against Amotekun should be thoroughly investigated so as not to eroded the credibility of the security agencies which has been working tirelessly to ensure safety of lives and properties.
Peter Okafor was shot dead last wek by some people believed to be Amotekun Operatives at Mokola Area of Ibadan on Wednesday, and his death has caused a lot of reactions from the members of the public.
Some aggrieved youths on Wednesday with the corpse of the deceased stormed Amotekun Base at Dadaru Mokola Area, before heading to the state Secretariat, Agodi Ibadan demanding justice over the cause of his death
