The expectations of the 13 suspended local government chairmen and LCDA in Oyo state was on Tuesday dashed as the state House of Assembly refuses to lift the suspension
13 council and LCDA Chairmen were on November 3rd suspended for refusing to submit report on earth moving equipment in their councils
The affected Local Government are Ido , Oluyole, Ibadan North East, Itesiwaju and Oyo East while the affected LCDAs are Akinyele East, Lagelu West, Soro, Ogbomoso Central, Ogbomoso South, Ajorosun, Ibarapa North West and Oyo South East.
At the plenary today, a letter written by
Forum of the caretaker chairman Oyo state and signed by the affected chairmen and Emanuel Oluwole Alawode Caretaker chairman Ibadan South East LG explained that the failure to submit was due to admnistrative lapses and not an attempt to undermine the authority of the house.
The letter which was read by the speaker of the House was however directed to the House committee on Local government for investigation on the cause of the administration lapses report back into the house in the next sitting.
The letter read ” we therefore appeal to your good office to temper justice with mercy and avail our colleagues the opportunity of returning to their Council areas.,
