The Oyo state House of Assembly has on Friday confirms the four members of the judiciary service commission nominees sent to the honourable House by His Excellency, Gov. Seyi Makinde on Thursday, 19th of December, 2019.
The four confirmed Full time members of the Judiciary Service Commission who are given the privilege to “Bow and Go” are Mr. Kehinde Akinwunmi Esq., Mr. Ogunrinde Yusuf Olatunji Esq., Lateef Adetunji Adedigba Esq., and Wahab Adedigba.
We gathered that the new members will be working together with the serving members of the commission under the chairmanship of the chief Judge of Oyo state, Hon. Justice Munta Abimbola.
Other members in this commission are Hon. Justice Enny Esan as Member, The attorney general of Oyo state, Prof. Oyelowo Oyewo as Member, and Mrs. Medinat Olufunke Akanni as Secretary.
While granting an interview with newsmen after their confirmation, the new members represented by Mr. Lateef Adetunji Adedigba Esq., lamented the case of fewer judges in the commission.
“The work on ground are too much for what the judges can do, there are sometimes more than 100 cases to be heared by one judge”.
He reiterated that the duty of the commission is to help appoints more judges adding that the speed rate of judiciary exercise will be fast when more judges are appointed.
In a similar development, the earlier rejected caretaker chairman nominee from the Ogbomosho South Local Government, Mr. Oyedokun Oyeniran Timothy has been reconsidered and confirmed by the house committee on local government and chieftaincy matters chaired by Hon. Ademola Popoola, after he has fielded question from honourable members and gone through duly reassessment.
