An indigenous youth association in Ibadan has said it will be necessary to make politics and governorship seats appealing to people like Engr. Jubril Dotun Sanusi, if the people of Oyo state want to keep enjoying good governance and sustainability of Governor Seyi Makinde ‘s developmental projects.
According to the group, it said, Oyo State has been witnessing tremendous developments under Governor Seyi Makinde, so it is necessary for the people of Oyo State, to look for a serious-minded personality, who will continue the vision of the present governor come 2027.
The youth group, Ibadan Youth Elite
made the stated this in a communique signed by its president and secretary, Engr. Basir Adedoja and Festus Oloya were made available to pressmen after their quarterly meeting held at, Iyaganku quarters in the Ibadan area of Oyo state.
Ibadan Youth Elite said, the next governor of Oyo state, should be someone who lives by certain administrative principles, someone with unique qualities and human traits.
” It is high time we start appealing to outstanding personalities like Engr. Jubril Dotun Sanusi to join a political party of his choice to contest the 2027 governorship seat in Oyo state, someone like him will continue to make the difference like the present state governor, as he has what it takes to move the state to where it ought to be.
” It has come to our notice that, Engr. Jubril Dotun Sanusi doesn’t have an interest in politics and has said often that he has no ambition to become a governor in Oyo state, but at this point, he needs to consider the interest of millions of people too, what Governor Seyi Makinde might have done for eight years must be protected and sustained beyond 2027.
” If appealing, begging Engr. Jubril Dotun Sanusi to lead Oyo state to greater height after governor Seyi Makinde is all that is needed, our group will take the lead.
” Our people in Oyo state can’t afford to be drawn back in governance and development, Seyi Makinde has set the pace for good governance in our state, and it is a must to maintain the standard.
” Over the years, we have all seen the leadership uniqueness in Jubril Dotun Sanusi, aside been a successful businessman, his numerous contributions to the growth and development of Ibadanland can’t be underestimated, he is one of many successful Oyo state Indigenes that bridge the gap between the rich and the poor, and his friendship cut across Oke-Ogun, Oyo, Ogbomoso and the seven Ibarapa towns.”
