The agitation by the Indigenes of Oke Ogun to produce the next governor of Oyo state became more intense as leaders of Oke Ogun Development Council Forum ODCF said they will not support anybody that came with deputy governorship position in 2019.
ODCF, had last week embarked on sensitization tour of Oke Ogun to alert the Indigenes on the need to work for an Indigenes to become the next governor irrespective of their party.
The rally which was led by its president, Dr Olusegun Ajuwon, visited major communities, in the region and ended up in Iseyin where hundreds of members gathered at the City township hall
During the tour, ODCF leaders caution politicians from the Zone not to bargain for deputy governorship plot or lesser position from any party, ” we have been supporting other zones to be governor, it is our turn and we must make use of it’ said Dr Ajuwon in Iseyin
Some of the traditional rulers visited during the tour commended the effort of the organizers and urge them not to deviate from the unity and determination with which they started with.
At the Iseyin township hall, Aseyin of Iseyin Oba Abdulganiyy Adekunle, expresses concern over the readiness and seriousness of the people of the Zone to produce the next governor.
The monarch who pledges total commitment to ensure Ajimobi’s successor emerges from Oke Ogun maintained that, the battle require serious effort, material and financial contributions.
Some of the people who speaks at the event urges ODCF, to be consistent in their effort and be transparent in their process of selection.
