Oyo 2019: ADP, APC Supporters Clash in Ogbomoso

Supporters of the ruling All Progressives Congress APC and Actions Democratic Party ADP on Tuesday evening clash in Ogbomoso leaving casualties on both sides

The incident happened around 6pm at Okelerin area, in Ogbomoso North local government area of Oyo state

There were claims and counter claims from both parties on the incident

The ADP claims that the APC deliberately attacked them because of the growing influence of the party in Ogbomoso and Oyo state at large while the APC said the ADP launched the attacks because the were not comfortable with the soaring influence and popularity of their party too

The chairman of APC in Ogbomoso North local government. Mr Bukola Badmus while narrating the incident to our reporter said around 6pm, we held a rally in some areas in Ogbomoso ans after the program ended some of our members were attacked by ADP chieftains in Okelerin in Ogbomoso

He reveals further that. ” some of our members was machet by the ADP thugs and while others were trying to challenge them they launched proper attack and some people were injured too

Badmus maintained that ‘ Already they are not comfortable with the way some of their former members moved into APC because most of where they considered as their stronghold have been captured by APC, so they are not happy and they are trying to cause crisis and scare people away from participating during the election.

” We have reliably gathered that the ADP people are planning to launch serious attack on members of APC and PDP in Ogbomoso because they consider us as threat to the chances of their candidates ”

In a counter claim,a chieftain of the ADP Hon Bimbo Oladeji, a member of Oyo state House of Assembly when contacted said the APC launched an attack on some of their party chieftains and members at Okelerin area around 6pm

Hon Oladeji who is contesting for Assembly seat in Ogbomoso North Local government said further the attack was targeted at the person of Akala and his entourage.

According to her APC considered ADP a threat to their manipulation in Ogbomoso and Oyo State as a whole.

She disclosed further that Lati Kilani a member ADP sustained machete cut injury and he is receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital in Ogbomoso.
