Speaking at his Prince and Princess Residence during his 70th birthday celebration, Akande highlighted Oyedokun’s unwavering dedication to impactful legacy projects and remarkable achievements across all sectors, which have transformed the council area into a model of progress.
Prince Akande emphasized that from the onset of Oyedokun’s administration, he has demonstrated a clear vision for sustainable development. According to him, Oyedokun’s commitment to addressing the pressing needs of the people has resulted in remarkable achievements that have touched every aspect of governance, leaving a profound impact on residents.
One of Oyedokun’s most notable achievements, Akande noted, is his dedication to healthcare. He explained how the administration has funded treatments for indigent patients, renovated primary healthcare centers, and stocked them with essential drugs and modern facilities, ensuring improved healthcare services for all.
In education, Oyedokun’s administration has brought about significant transformation. Exercise books and other educational materials have been distributed to students in public schools, underscoring his commitment to human capital development and securing a brighter future for the youth.
Recognizing the role of agriculture in the local economy, Oyedokun has worked closely with the Oyo State Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development to implement farmer-friendly initiatives. These include subsidized inputs and training programmes that have improved productivity. Additionally, the construction of modern markets has bolstered trade and commerce, providing an enabling environment for business growth.
Oyedokun’s administration has also prioritized skill acquisition and youth empowerment by providing vocational training programmes. These initiatives have fostered entrepreneurship and self-reliance, particularly among women and young people in the community.
Prince Akande attributed Oyedokun’s success to his people-oriented approach, testifying that residents have lauded his accessibility, open-door policy, and transparent governance style, which allow citizens to voice their concerns and participate in decision-making processes.
