The Mogaji’s in Ibadanland, Baales, Chiefs, market leaders and others have expressed gratitude to Osun State Government for the approval of Prince Haastrup Adesuyi as the Owa Obokun of Ijesa Elect.

The chiefs praised the decision, highlighting its significance for the Ijesa community and traditional institutions in the region.

A statement by the Coordinator, Ibadan Compounds Peace Initiatives (ICPI), Mogaji Nurudeen Akinade on behalf of the Chiefs emphasized that the approval marked pivotal moment in the leadership dynamics of Ijesa, fostering unity and stability within the community.

The statement commended Osun state government for its commitment towards upholding traditional governance and recognizing importance of the Owa Obokun title.

According to the Chiefs, Prince Haastrup’s leadership qualities and dedication to community development make him an ideal candidate for the role.

The statement expressed confidence that his ascension would bring about positive changes and enhance the socio-economic conditions of the Ijesa people.

The Chiefs stressed the need for collaboration between traditional rulers and government to address pressing issues facing the Ijesa community.
