Opposition parties in Oyo state has has said the incumbent Governor Abiola Ajimobi is the brain behind the series of mayhem’s and attacks happening in and around Oyo state.
They also said the Resident Electoral Commissioner of INEC in Oyo state Barr. Mutiu Agboke, should be held responsible for any form of manipulation, disenfranchisement and or rigging that is on the agenda of the ruling APC.
In a press statement signed by signed by Director Generals of political parties including Lawal Bashiru(ADC) Chief Bioye Oke, (SDP)Wale Ohu ADP, Waheed Akanbi (ZLP), Bayo Lawal (PDP) and Ademola Adeniji (AD), they alleged that INEC in Oyo state has on it’s list fake SPO’s who have been recruited by the Electoral body as part of its plans to rig the election for the APC in Oyo state.
But the Resident Electoral Commission REC, Barrister Mutiu Agboke in his reaction said The issue of SPO’s is guided by regulations which says it must be a staff of the Federal government. As for others, they are mere unfounded rumours i challenged anybody with verifiable fact to come out and say it” He said

TEXT OF A JOINT PRESS RELEASE BY FORUM OF DIRECTOR’S GENERAL OF CAMPAIGN ORGANIZATIONS OF VARIOUS OPPOSITION POLITICAL PARTIES IN OYO STATE.
Today marks a very significant process in the history of our nascent democracy in Oyo state and Nigeria at large.
This marks a new beginning in the determination of the Political future of our Dear Oyo state and the process of leaving a lasting democratic legacy for the future generation yet unborn.
Recent happenings in the Political firmament of our own Oyo state necessitates the coming together of the various Directors General of the campaign organization of candidates of various opposition political parties participating in the forthcoming General elections in Oyo state.
Our resolve to come together as one Indivisible, united entity is premised on the determination and resolve of Opposition political parties in Oyo state to checkmate the Oppressive, Undemocratic and Public forsaken All Progressive Congress (A.P.C) and to liberate the people of Oyo state from the shackles of the oppressors who are hellbent on holding on to Power for their own selfish interest.

Our Vision is,
“To have a greater Oyo state”.
The noticeable undemocratic ways of the All Progressives Congress under the supervision of an Incumbent Governor who is hellbent on securing a 3rd term by proxy with the intention of further enslaving and Improverishing the enlightened and good natured people of Oyo state necessitated this great call for action.
Events in recent past has shown that the ruling party in Oyo state (All Progressives Congress) to be precise is jittery of the Imminent loss staring it in the face and as a face saving measure chosen to go for the jugular.
The series of attacks on Opposition Political Parties being perpetrated by agents and privys of the Government in power is becoming worrisome and can no longer be tolerated.
As at the last count Billboards and Campaign Posters belonging to various Political parties, carrying the message of hope to the good people of Oyo state have been destroyed with reckless abandon.
The Peoples Democratic Party have been an Object of Vicious attack by the A.P.C and its hoodlums in recent times as series of coordinated attacks are launched on the Party and its members unabatedly.
Just on Thursday 31st of January, 2019, at Ojoo area of Ibadan, another round of attack was launched on the campaign train of P.D.P by agents of the ruling A.P.C government who opened fire on the convoy of the P.D.P Gubernatorial Candidate leaving scores of supporters Including passersby seriously injured and five dead.
The Campaign team of the African Democratic Congress was attacked by members of the A.P.C at Afijio Local government few days back.
The recent attack on the House of Representatives candidate of the Zenith Labour Party at Sabo area of Ibadan speaks volume of the Intolerance of the now out of favor A. P. C in their bid to silence members of the opposition.
That of the Action Democratic Party is not left behind as members of the party were attacked in Ogbomoso which is the home-town of a former governor during one of it’s campaign tour.
These attacks continue unabatedly and cuts across the various Political Parties in the state.
These series of attacks on Party Supporters, Properties and Campaign materials of members and campaign organizations of opposition political parties notwithstanding, we have been patient and matured in our dealings with these tyrants in Government who are hell-bent on holding on to power by all means even at the cost of setting Oyo state on fire by the APC has been unearthed.
As stakeholders in the Oyo state project, we have decided to rise up to the occasion and put a final stop to the menacing attitude of the Pharaoh’s who think Agodi Government House is their birth right no matter whose Ox is gored.
ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!!
We members of the Opposition political parties have come to the conclusion that we have had enough of their excesses and tolerated these untoward, Barbaric and Ill-mannered approach towards the forthcoming 2019 general elections.
The agenda of setting Oyo state on fire there-by disrupting the Electoral process has been unearthed.
The desire to have a secluded election away from the general election due to the seemingly glaring failure at the polls staring the A.P.C in the face has been unraveled.
No amount of chaos, gansterism and killings orchestrated by the government in power can shift the resolve of the people of Oyo state to vote out the A.P.C at the forthcoming polls.
The catalogue of woes and war of attrition being waged on the citizens of Oyo state in the hands of the monster called A.P.C is to be put to check with immediate effect.
We repeat in Unison, no amount of intimidation, threat or harrrasment can change this narrative.
We stand firm in our belief that the end has come for the tyrant in Power.

Good people of Oyo State, we want to also use this forum to alert you of the antics of the Resident Electoral Commissioner of INEC in Oyo state Barr. Mutiu Agboke, that he should be held responsible for any form of manipulation, disenfranchisement and or rigging that is on the agenda of the ruling APC.
As at this morning, the INEC in Oyo state has on it’s list fake SPO’s who have been recruited by the Electoral body as part of its plans to rig the election for the APC in Oyo state.
The fake SPO’s and Collation Officers who claim to be federal civil servants are to be used Supervisor and Collation officers to preside over the election.
The Integrity of Barr. Mutiu Agboke as to a free and fair credible election is already in doubt.
His shenanigans and unprofessional conduct is already in the open.
He has the moral burden of proving us wrong.
His recent visit to the Agodi Government house on the eve of the visit of President Muhammdu Buhari to Ibadan to receive Presidential briefing on how to manipulate the coming election is already in the open.
Let it be known to the REC that the evil perpetrated in Osun and Ekiti cannot be replicated IN Oyo state.
We are more enlightened and sophisticated.
The history of the Wild Wide West is still fresh in our memories.
We advise him in his own best interest to either stay neutral and be an unbiased umpire or resign his position and save his hard earned reputation.
The fake Federal civil servants who registered with fake Identity Cards and who have been recruited as SPO’s and CO’s should be dispensed off with immediate effect and the anomalies rectified as soon as possible.
We have a comprehensive list of these Impostors and we will not hesitate to publish them in major National Dailies if the situation is not redressed within the next one week.
The necessary security agencies should be on red alert as we shall ensure that they are rounded up and prosecuted accordingly.
So also is the issue of those thugs and miscreants recruited to cause mayhem and confusion in Oyo state, we are presently compiling the list of those agents of destruction which shall soon be made Public.
The security of Oyo state is being put on line and the rate at which mayhem is unleashed on the citizenry is quite alarming.
Let it also be on record that the Oyo state Resident Electoral Commissioner Barr. Mutiu Agboke in his bid to satisfy his pay masters has monopolized all activities within the Oyo state office of INEC.
Mr Agboke as we speak has usurped and arrogated all powers to himself and has made himself the numero-uno with the commission.
The Directors within the comission have been made redundant and ineffective as all matter that affect the conduct of the 2019 General elections and other matters therein are solely handled by him alone without recourse to normal bureaucratic process and procedures.
This is to make it easy for him to compromise the election for the APC
It is also of note that fake Police and Army uniforms have been arranged and are ready for distribution to thugs and members of the ruling APC who will pose as security agents on the days preceding the election, election day and days after.
The Intention is to use this fake Police and soldiers Intimidate members of the Public into submission to the whims and caprices of the tyrants in Government.
Members of the Public are advised to be cautious of these mauraders in uniform and endeavor to jointly track them down at every given opportunity as this is a call to action and we must not shy away from this call to service.
These fake security agents have been briefed to clamp down on unsuspecting members of the public and silence them where need be.
Also, series of trumped up charges have been highlighted by the tyrants in Government to be deployed against opposition members as another of their strategies which we have also nipped in the bud.
The decision of various Opposition Political parties to come together is to ensure that a free, credible and acceptable political process is put in place and ensure that we all have a voice and make the votes of the masses count.
