Olugbon of Orile Igbon on Saturday hosts dignitaries from all walks of life in the ancient town of Ile Igbon, Oyo state for his 60th birthday celebration and unveiling of multi million naira palace.
The monarch also honour eminent personalities including Oyo state Governor Engineer Olusegi Makinde, (Aare of Orile Igbo) Wife of former Gov of Oyo state Chief Mrs Florence Ajimobi,( Yeye Oba of Orile Igbon) Otunba Seye Famojuro, Balogun Bobajiroro of Orile Igbon,Hon Akinwale Akinwole( Bashorun Amuludun of Igbon and others.
Others includes, Alhaji Babatunde Tijani Double T ( Aare of Orile Igbon) Chief Layi Labode Akogun Aribidesi and Yeye Aribidesi, Chief Oloruntoba Ayodele and others.
Oba Francis Alao in his brief remark said the event was divided into three categories, including the commissioning of the newly constructed palace and the celebration of his birthday.
He noted that the magnificent edifice, a palace with outstanding aesthetics, was one of his digital visions as a future-focused King to put Orile Igbon on the pedestal it deserved in light of the fact that it housed over 200 villages and close to 100 community leaders.
The monarch thanked Governor Seyi Makinde for his steadfast support, referring to him as his bossom friend and dependable ally as well as his executive governor, emphasizing that his outstanding support up to this point cannot be overstated.
He said: “I find it befitting to not only house-warm this new palace but to install a number of people who have made huge contributions in the society, and Gov. Makinde being the first to be installed, stands tall among them.
“To the glory of God, today, we will be housewarming “the palace, awarding a number of dignitaries with Chieftaincy titles. We thank the Oyo Deputy Governor who is representing the Governor to perform this rites, “ he submitted.
The deputy governor of Oyo state, Barrister Abdul-Raheem Adebayo Lawal who represented Gov Seyi Makinde, said the present administration would continue to give community and rural development a high priority across the state.
He described Governor Makinde as a dynamic and forward-looking person who is so concerned about the development of the state.
He commended Oba Francis Olusola Alao, the Olu Igbon of Orile Igbon, for choosing individuals of impeccable character to serve as their Chieftains and for the location of the palace, noting that everyone believes that development will gyrates toward the palace’s location as it is central to all surrounding communities.
“We’re assembled here today to commission Orile Igbon’s brand-new palace. We anticipate that because the palace is located in a hub for the surrounding villages, there will be a movement of growth in that direction.
Thirdly, we are here to express our congratulations to the newly-installed chieftains since they are capable leaders who can advance the state. We are therefore appreciative, and I am confident that they would all work together to advance Orile Igbon and the state at large.
A palace of this sort, according to Lawal, is a work in progress, and the newly appointed Chieftains will also need to provide significant contributions to the palace’s development.
