Princess Taiwo Adetunji, one of the daughters of Olubadan of Ibadan Oba Saliu Adetunji ,on Thursday declared her intention to contest the Oyo State House of Assembly seat under the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), in the 2019 general elections.

She is seeking to represent Ibadan South West 1 state constituency.

The monarch’s daughter, while addressing hundreds of her supporters and members of the party at the constituency’s secretariat in Ibadan said her  willingness to serve her people and the importance of getting what they  need made her joined politics

She however  assured her constituents that she  would ensure they get what they need.” I have the capacity to deliver the dividends of democracy to my constituents.”

Princess Taiwo maintained that she was not taking advantage of her position as one of the children of Olubadan .“It is true that my father is the Olubadan of Ibadan land, but I am not contesting in order to use my father’s influence to get the party’s ticket and win, I want people to know that I have the capacity and I am not going to capitalise on my father’s influence. I want my people to support me for what and who I am.”

Adetunji has a bachelor degree in Economics Education from the Lagos State University (LASU) Ojo and masters degree in Finance from the Ladoke Akintola University.
