The Olubadan of Ibadanland, His Imperial Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, ARUSA I, on Friday installed the Okanlomo Oodua, Chief (Engr.) Dr. Jubril Dotun Sanusi, as the Gbonka Olubadan of Ibadanland.
The installation ceremony took place at the Olubadan Palace, Oke-Aremo, Ibadan, where the monarch elevated Chief Sanusi to the prestigious Gbonka Olubadan title alongside other distinguished chiefs on the Civil Line of the Olubadan Chieftaincy.
The elevation marks another milestone in Chief Sanusi’s progression within the traditional hierarchy of Ibadanland and recognises his contributions to the growth and development of the ancient city.
Chief Sanusi, a renowned businessman and philanthropist, has earned widespread recognition for his investments in education, youth empowerment, healthcare, and community development, as well as his support for initiatives aimed at promoting socio-economic development in Oyo State and Nigeria.
The installation further reinforces his position among the respected traditional title holders in Ibadanland and reflects the Olubadan-in-Council’s recognition of his service, philanthropy, and commitment to the progress of the city.
The ceremony was attended by members of the Olubadan-in-Council, traditional chiefs, family members, associates, and other dignitaries who witnessed the conferment of the revered chieftaincy title.
