The Olubadan of Ibadanland, His Imperial Majesty Oba (Dr) Akinloye Owolabi Olakulehin (Ige Olakulehin I), has officially disclaimed Engineer Sarafadeen Abdulrasaq Adekunle Olayiwola as the Mogaji (family head) of the Otepola Ibidapo Family, Moganna Compound, Isale Bode, Ibadan.

This announcement was made through a press release signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Olubadan, Chief Ayoade Solomon Olugbemiga.

According to the statement, the decision followed the findings of the Chieftaincy Screening and Dispute Resolution Committee, which held a meeting on November 20, 2024. During the deliberations, it was revealed that the certificate presented by Engr. Olayiwola claiming his appointment as Mogaji was forged and therefore deemed invalid.

The statement further clarified that Engr. Olayiwola was never officially installed by any recognized traditional authority as Mogaji of the family, a fundamental requirement for such a position in Ibadan’s traditional system.

The matter was revisited at the Olubadan-in-Council meeting held on Monday, May 19, 2025, during which several other misconducts attributed to Engr. Olayiwola were reportedly uncovered.

As a result, the Olubadan directed that Engr. Olayiwola must immediately cease parading himself as the Mogaji of the Otepola Ibidapo Family.

“Failure to desist from parading yourself as Mogaji Otepola Ibidapo Family, Moganna Compound, Isale Bode Area of Ibadan will attract necessary sanctions and appropriate legal action,” the monarch warned in the statement.

This development underscores the Olubadan’s continued commitment to preserving the integrity of the traditional institution and ensuring due process in the appointment of family heads within Ibadanland
