Olubadan: Ambassador Tukur Buratai Visits Late Oba Lekan Balogun’s Family, Says Ibadan Has Loss A Great Leader

The Great Kingdom of Ibadan has loss a great leader; Ambassador Tukur Buratai.

A former Chief of Army Staff, (COAS, Nigerian Army) and former Nigerian Ambassador to the Republic of Benin, Ambassador (Lt General rtd) Tukur Buratai CFR, who’s also the Aare Akinrogun of Ibadan Land, has expressed condolences over the passing of the Olubadan of Ibadan Land, Oba Lekan Balogun.

During a condolence visit to the Palace of the late Olubadan, on Monday 18th March, 2024. Ambassador Buratai who led an array of eminent Nigerians, that included Hon Jafaru Ribadu, Brigadier General Muazu, Colonel Emmanuel Adegbola, Comrade Oladimeji Odeyemi and other eminent dignitaries.

Amb Buratai described Oba Balogun as a father figure who lived a commendable life.

Amb Buratai on arrival at the Ali iwo palace paid a tribute to the late Olubadan in the condolence register, where he wrote, ” The great kingdom of Ibadan has loss a great leader, a great Monarch with great compassion and empathy to the people of Ibadan and to humanity.
HRM, late Oba Dr Mohood Lekan Balogun was very friendly and well liked by all the people that come across him. I will miss his love and friendship. May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace. Amin. My condolences to the family and Ibadan people”.

Ambassador Buratai acknowledged Oba Balogun ‘s impressive background as a lecturer, a knowledgeable politician, a former Senator.

Amb Buratai expressed his hope the Oba Balogun’s passing will not be in vain. He prayed that the Almighty Allah would forgive his shortcomings and provide solace to the bereaved family.

Ambassador Buratai was received at the late Olubadan’s Palace by the younger brother of the late Monarch, Senator Kola Balogun, the Oloris, Children and other family members of the late Olubadan.

Ambassador Buratai equally commiserate with His Excellency, Engr Seyi Makinde, the Executive Governor of Oyo State, who’s a prominent son of Ibadan Land, the Olubadan in Council, and the good people of Ibadan Land, and most especially the families of the late Oba Lekan Balogun.

Ambassador Buratai then proceeded to the Ali iwo family house of the late Olubadan to offer prayers for the late Olubadan.
