As part of its annual extra-curricular developmental activities, the management of the Olivet Baptist High School, Oyo, Nigeria, will organize its 59th Inter‑House Sports Competition on Tuesday, February 17, 2026.
The annual sporting event which is part of plans to foster unity and excellence among the students from various parts of the country will feature spirited competition among six houses including: Pinnock, Locket, Homer Brown, Atanda, Odetayo and Lafihan.
According to the Management of the school including the Principals, Vice Principals and the staff, “the Inter‑House Sports competition which will hold on the campus of the school remains a cornerstone of Olivet’s proud tradition, fostering unity, legacy, discipline, sportsmanship and excellence among students while celebrating the school’s rich heritage”.
Several dignitaries from the National Old Students Association (NOSA) will grace the occasion, including: Ayobami Olubiyi, National President of NOSA, alongside his Executive Committee; Past Presidents of NOSA: Dr. Olusegun K. Ahmadu, Dr. Kunle Ogunmola, Mr. Gbolahan Labinjo, and Dr. Wale Okediran. Agba Akin Adebayo, Chairman of the Oyo Chapter NOSA and one of the oldest Old Students, Chief B. Adebimpe Lala are expected to grace the competition.
Dignitaries expected from the government circle include: Mrs F.I Ayantunde – Permanent Secretary/TG TESCOM Oyo zone; Mrs Karonwi M.O- Permanent Secretary/Inspector General of Education; Chief Simon Olawale Olufunmilayo – Director of Entrepreneurship, Federal School of Surveying, Oyo, and Mrs Ajao O.O-ANCOPSS chairperson Oyo central.
The presence of the dignitaries underscores the enduring bond between Olivet Baptist High School and its alumni network, the community, as well as, the school’s commitment to nurturing future leaders through sports and education.
“The 59th Inter‑House Sports will showcase a variety of track and field events, team competitions, and cultural displays. It promises to be a vibrant celebration of athleticism, camaraderie, and school spirit”, the Management further explained.
