The Okere of Sakiland, Oba Dr. Sur. Khalid Oyeniyi Olabisi Oyedepo III, on Wednesday hosted prominent traditional rulers from the Oke-Ogun axis of Oyo State at his palace in Saki for a maiden strategic joint security meeting aimed at addressing rising security concerns in the region.
The high-level meeting brought together royal fathers from across Oke-Ogun to deliberate on practical measures to strengthen security, improve collaboration, and safeguard lives and property in their various communities.
During the meeting, the monarchs examined the prevailing security challenges affecting Oke-Ogun, Oyo State, and the country as a whole.
They emphasized the need for proactive strategies to tackle insecurity while promoting peace, unity, and sustainable socio-economic development across the region.
The traditional rulers also resolved to deepen cooperation with security agencies, government authorities, and community stakeholders to improve intelligence gathering and information sharing as part of efforts to prevent crime and enhance public safety.
They reaffirmed their collective commitment to providing leadership that will foster peaceful coexistence and support initiatives aimed at ensuring a secure environment for residents and investors in Oke-Ogun.
The meeting, held at the palace of the Okere of Sakiland in Saki, marks the first joint security engagement of traditional rulers in the Oke-Ogun region and is expected to pave the way for sustained collaboration in addressing security challenges.
