For his consistent act of promoting the Cultural values and heritage of Ogidi Community ,Ijumu Local Government ,Kogi State has conferred ‘ Friend of Ogidi Award ‘ on Ambassador Wale Ojo Lanre , Director General ,Ekiti State Council for Arts and Culture.
Conferring the Award on the Director General ,Ekiti State Council for Arts and Culture today during the celebration of Ogidi Ela Day ,Oba Sule ,Ologidi of Ogidi described Wale Ojo Lanre as ” a rare Cultural tourism journalist who is painstakingly committed to the promotion of Ogidi Day festival and it’s development .
He has always be with us and must have covered this Festival for the past 10 years .
We are happy with him and appreciate his inmeasureable contribution to our town . Hence this Award ‘
In his response ,Ojo – Lanre expressed gratitude to the the King and town for appreciating the little effort of his pointing out that the letter of. Notice and confirmation of the Award were sent in the month of February ,when he was not yet a Director General .
‘ I am overwhelmed with joy today . Ogidi is a town of upright people who appreciate and who reward little effort no matter the status of the doers.
