The Chairman of Ogbomoso United Football Club, Hon Akinwale Solomon Akinwole has applauded the newly acquired Nigeria Nationwide League side for an outstanding performance after the team played a goalless draw with Crown Football Club of Ogbomoso.
The friendly game which was watched by teeming fans of both sides and other sports lovers at the Soun Stadium in the early hours of Saturday 7th March, 2020 , saw both sides flowing the ball perfectly with handlers of both sides giving technical and tactical directives from the side line.
” I’m so happy not for the goalless draw but the pace at which the team is progressing. I have not been opportune to watch their games because of my very tight schedule but I’m impressed with what I saw this morning”.
” We gave our senior side a good fight. Our performance this morning has shown that there is a very shining light at the end of the tunnel. The team isn’t put in place for immediate results but to groom our teeming talents for national and international honours”

On his plans for the new club and journey so far, the philanthropist said ;
” The team has age limit of seventy (17) as the highest because I will run it like an academy. But few overage players, say five (5) of not more than twenty years (20yrs) of age with vast experience will be included in the team. Already we have our technical crew and other members of staff which we are reimbursing on monthly basis, no matter how little. Our team bus is available with other kits intact”.
“Very soonest we will have our hostel where our boys will be camped as well as our befitting office. Our website is running 24/7 and in a few time we will get our retail outlet in a strategic place where our kits and souvenirs will be sold at comparatively cheap rate”.
” We are in partnership with other top agents/ scouts and in few months time they will come and pick the needed legs”, the CEO of Black Edge submitted.
Ogbomoso United FC is a newly acquired amateur II side who will be participating in the Nationwide League , 2020 Aiteo Cup (Federation Cup) and some international competitions in nearby countries.
